(Working Paper Series N° 192 African Development Bank). Tunis: ADB. The paper studies the reasons behind low levels of agricultural credit in Africa focusing on the role of institutions. The study is based on data from 1990–2011 for ten African countries where agricultural credit exists: Mali, Nigeria, Burundi, Rwanda, Chad, Sudan, Egypt, Kenya, Lesotho, and South Africa.
